Seek The Truth

Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me," and "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." (John 14:2; 3:16-17)

Is this world all there is?

This entry is part 13 of 23 in the series Christianity

If this world is all there is, then that gives us reason to be depressed. If there is nothing look forward to, then there is no hope.

We cannot live without hope. Hope gives us a reason to get up in the morning and something to live for.

Hope goes together with Faith.

You have faith that the sun will rise tomorrow morning. That is something you trust will happen. It’s something that you’ve witnessed over and over again and you know it will happen.

That’s easy faith. Faith in something that you can see and feel. What about faith in something that is supernatural? Something that’s intangible? You can’t say, “I’ll believe it when I see it,” because you’ll never actually see it.

How about something you can feel? Will you believe in something if you can feel it? Sure. But faith in God works the opposite – you have to believe in it before you can feel it. And the beauty of it is that your feel it instantly.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.~Hebrews 11:1

The whole chapter of Hebrews 11:1-40 talks about faith and the faith of the biblical forefathers. And in Hebrews 12:1-3, we’re told to not grow weary and lose heart.

God keeps His promises.

  • He promised us a room in His mansion in Heaven. (John 14: 1-4)
  • He promised us the gift of the Holy Spirit if we believe. (Acts 2:38-40)
  • Jesus promised us that He and only He was the door to Heaven. (John 10:9; John 14:6-7)

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.~Hebrews 6:19

…And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.~ Romans 5:2-5

You, too can have this hope in your heart. It will lighten up your life. It will give you joy and peace in the midst of a troubled world. It will give you something to look forward to, something to live for. For Jesus lived, died and lived again for you.

It’s easy, just pray this prayer wholehearted and sincerely:

Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
