Seek The Truth

by Giselle Aguiar, Award-Winning, Christian Author

Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me," and "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." (John 14:2; 3:16-17)

Tweet Your way into Heaven? Catholic church says Yes!

If you have any doubt if you’re going to heaven, now you can follow the Pope on Twitter and he’ll help you get out of Purgatory faster. Yeah.

In its latest attempt to keep up with the times the Vatican has married one of its oldest traditions to the world of social media by offering “indulgences” to followers of Pope Francis’ tweets. ~The Guardian

This is WRONG!

First of all, Purgatory doesn’t exist. It’s not in the Bible. Purgatory was invented by the early church fathers to get the people of the Dark Ages to behave.

Second, the only way to get to heaven is by believing in Jesus Christ. No amount of money, nothing you can do as a human, can help you get into heaven.

“Indulgences” go back to the 1500s when the Catholic church was trying to raise money to build St. Peter’s Basilica. They sold the “indulgences” so that people can buy a ticket to heaven for themselves of a family member who already died. It’s what prompted Martin Luther to start the Protestant Reformation. (By then way, once you’re dead, there’s no turning back. You either are in heaven or hell – those are your choices.)

Here’s the TRUTH:

…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24

Just being “good” or doing charitable works won’t get you into heaven.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

The key word in that statement is “the”. Jesus is THE WAY, not “a” way. Jesus is THE TRUTH, not “a” truth. And He is THE LIFE, not “a” life.

So if the Catholic church and the Vatican actually think they can help people get out of an imaginary place (Purgatory) and get into heaven, THEY ARE WRONG!

I’m a former Catholic. Now, as a committed, born-again, evangelical, Protestant Christian, I look back at my Catholic upbringing and I feel deprived. I could have been learning the Truth about Jesus not just the “Bible stories” that the Catholic church felt were important. They picked out the stories that suited their purpose and ignored the rest. I think this is a big reason why our world is so messed up.

Read the Bible. Read the Truth. Find a bible-based church that teaches from the bible.

So what sounds better, believing in Jesus Christ and assuring yourself a room in His Father’s House or going to hell? And He’s waiting for YOU there preparing a place for YOU. (John 14:2)

The Signs that we’re living in the End Times

Implosion by Joel C. RosenbergI left out an important part from my review of, modern-day prophet, Joel C. Rosenberg’s book “Implosion” - the signs of the end times.

I’ve written a lot about these signs and he puts them in a simple list then elaborates on each. The book is worth reading just for that. There are 20 signs in Bible Prophecy that tell us what we’ll see in the last days.

  1. Wars and rumors of wars
  2. Uprisings and revolutions and kingdoms being shaken
  3. Famines
  4. Earthquakes
  5. Pestilences and plagues
  6. Terrors and growing fears
  7. Great signs in the heavens and blood-red moons
  8. The roaring of the sea and waves
  9. Persecution of the church
  10. Apostasy of the church
  11. Betrayal
  12. Lawlessness
  13. False prophets and false teachers (I’m seeing more and more metaphysical folks gaining popularity – that is not “the way”)
  14. False messiahs
  15. Increase in knowledge and travel
  16. The State of Israel being reborn and increasingly becoming the epicenter of international attention
  17. The gospel being preached to every nation
  18. A spiritual awakening in Israel and among the Jewish people
  19. A spiritual awakening in Iran
  20. An increase in mockery of Bible prophecy
Rapture Fantasy

These are just the beginning.

Jesus said, “All these are the beginning of birth pains.” (Matthew 24)

“In other words, the Bible teaches that while all of these signs will be visible in the last days as we approach the Day of the Lord and the Second Coming, these and other events will radically accelerate and intensify as the time of Christ’s return draws near.” (Page 76-77)

Since this book was written last year, we’ve had Benghazi, Egypt, Syria, bombing in Israel, Christians persecution in the U.S., Middle East and Africa, Superstorm Sandy, the shootings in CT, NY and other places, false prophets saying that the world would end on Dec. 21, 2012.

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
