Seek The Truth

by Giselle Aguiar, Award-Winning, Christian Author

Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me," and "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." (John 14:2; 3:16-17)

How Satan Speaks

This entry is part 18 of 23 in the series Christianity

Satan and his helpers are all around us. He speaks to us in the form of temptations — dangling pretty things in front of us and trying to get us to lie, cheat, steal even kill to get them.

If you put your trust in the Lord and trust that He’ll guide you where He wants you to go, then when an idea comes to mind or your instinct is telling you it’s the right thing to do, stop one more time to ask, “Lord, is this really what you want me to do?” Or “What would Jesus do?

If you still have that urge, then it’s the right thing.

Be aware, that Satan is always trying to steer you in the wrong direction. Whether it’s through an offer that seems too good to be true or the carrot stick of power and money, you’ve got to make sure that it’s not Satan. The risk then may be too great.

Discernment: How do you discern if the message is coming from God or from Satan? It’s not as simple as the angel and the devil on either of your shoulders whispering in your ears. We know to follow the angel’s advice, but end up following the devil’s temptation because it’s too good to pass up.

Satan wouldn’t make fun of you. He’d want to be your buddy so you’d hang around with him. Bad idea.

Follow Christ. Satan’s days are numbered. Christ will come back and rule forever.

It’s a War Out there

This entry is part 9 of 23 in the series Christianity
Dr. Jeremiah’s Series about
the Armor of God

2 messages this morning about Spiritual Warfare – one on TV from Dr. David Jeremiah (Sundays on Channel 5 in Phoenix at 7:30 am) and the other at my church from our teaching pastor, Chuck Foreman.

Dr. Jeremiah. opened his program with this: “It is said that there are no atheists in foxholes.” That reminded me of something someone I know said. He served in the Army in Viet Nam and said that his beliefs were from “foxhole religion”.

That’s the “God is a great spare tire” mentality where you know that God is around if you absolutely need Him but you can handle life in general by yourself.

But can you really, by yourself, all alone, face the evil of the world?

We are in a universal war. There is a villain called Lucifer and he rules the world right now. He’s a schemer, a tempter. His strategy for our destruction is all about getting us to give in to our flesh.

For example:
Unforgiveness: 2 Corinthians 2:10-11

Pride: “Of all bad men, religious bad men are the worst. Of all created beings, the wickedest is the one who originally stood in the immediate presence of God.” – C.S. Lewis

Pursue a humble heart and you will avoid pride.

Believing Lucifer’s lies about what will make you happy — We’re never satisfied because our flesh can never be satisfied! No matter how much we have, we want more: bigger, better, faster, smoother, easier, brighter, higher, more luxurious… it will never stop! Gee, that’s sounds like GREED. That’s what got our country into the trouble we’re in.

Dr. Jeremiah just finished a series on the Armor of God. It’s found in Ephesians 6:10-17 where Paul is instructing the people of Ephesus how to protect themselves from the evils of the world. Here’s are all his presentations in “The Armory.” Watch them all. I like Dr. Jeremiah. He’s got a soothing voice and doesn’t yell at you like some other TV evangelist do.

God should be your GPS and your Armor not your spare tire.

Get to know God, He wants to get to know you. It’s about a relationship not religion.

God Bless,
Soli Deo Gloria!
