Seek The Truth

Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me," and "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." (John 14:2; 3:16-17)

When a moral person crosses the line

Recently, I wrote this blog article: White collar “paper crimes” on the rise. In it I describe several instances on how trusted employees embezzle thousands of dollars from their employers.

What drives a person to cross the line? Given the condition of today’s economy and society, it doesn’t take much to push someone “over the edge.” I know, I was on the edge. You can read about it in my other blog: Up the Down Escalator.

On Feb. 10, I had the pleasure of attending An Evening with David Jeremiah. I’ve read many of his books.  He spoke of Spiritual Warfare and how the devil is constantly trying to get a foothold in our lives so that we will follow Satan rather than Jesus.

Satan’s influence in our lives takes many forms. Dr. Jeremiah outlined them:

  • Indifference – people just don’t care
  • Ignorance – people don’t pay attention – they don’t understand
  • Infiltration – people allow bad influences from other people, TV, music, movies into their lives.
  • Intervention – evil influences try to get you to focus on them rather than God
  • Intimidation – Satan is powerful, but God is more powerful.

Think about it. With all the distractions in our lives – TV, cell phones, computers, social networking, radio, texting… it’s no wonder how our focus is on the things of this world rather than the things of God.

Satan is against us. Satan’s natural language is lies. We are under Satan’s yoke.

Don’t give in to Satan. If you feel yourself being pulled in the wrong direction, focus on God. Ask God for help. That’s why He’s there. HE LOVES YOU and does not want you to go in the wrong direction. But He gave you free will to make decisions and it’s up to know the difference between right and wrong.

Here are some bible verse Dr. Jeremiah quoted that night. Move your mouse over the link to read them.

1 Timothy 4:1
Ephesians 6:11-12
Revelation 12:9
James 3:6
James 3:8
2 Corinthians 11:14
1 John 5:19
1 John 4:4
Ephesians 4:27
Proverbs 6:27

Jesus said, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money…” (Matthew 6:19-24)Who are you serving – God or money? Or is there another “master” in your life like lust? Where are your priorities? Focus on the light.

God Bless,
Soli Deo Gloria

In my life coaching class last week, we spoke of values – integrity being one. Then I got this –

Integrity: A most precious commodity. And rare. But for Christians it should be in abundance.
Integrity: Adherence to a code of moral value. The quality of being complete. Undivided.
Integrity: Its synonym is honesty. Uprightness of character. A refusal to deceive. Incapable of being false.
Integrity: An absolute requirement of those who witness for Christ. It makes our witness believable.
You either have it or you don’t. Do you?
