80-85% of the people who call in sick to work are not. That’s cheating the company you work for. That’s fraud.
With that high a number, I have to assume that some of them are Christians – or profess to be.
Ok, some companies have policies where if you don’t use your sick days within a specific time frame, you lose them. But that doesn’t give you license to be dishonest. And what happens when you’re really sick or get hurt and you’ve run out of sick days? Day off without pay. You only screw yourself in the end.
Even leaving 10 minutes early if no one sees you, is cheating.
Because you can get away with it doesn’t make it right. Oh, but your employer may have sent a detective after you. And what do you think will happen if you get caught? There are millions of unemployed people out there who, because they’ve been unemployed for so long, will be the best, most loyal employees ever. The last thing you want is to get fired in this economy.
If you live your life cheating your employer, your spouse, your family, your friends, you are never going to break free.
Living your life with honor and integrity is what Jesus calls us to do. It’s the main goal of every Christian.
Next time you’re tempted to call in sick and then head to the mall, think – What Would Jesus Do? Then go to work.
