An Ah-Ha Moment

My bible study this morning did what it was supposed to do – give me an ah-ha moment – you know an “epiphany” – an insight – something I had never thought of – made a lot of things make sense all of a sudden.

However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”– but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. … The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. ~1 Corinthians 2:9-10, 14

There are people who profess to be Christian – they know there is a God and they know that Jesus was His son, but they don’t believe it in their hearts. If they did, they’d have the Spirit – the third part of the Triune God that is inside the hearts of every committed Christian.
Paul says so in the first line above: …”no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”– but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit….”. Without the Spirit, we cannot possibly comprehend what’s in store for us as true children of God.

When a person commits their hearts to Jesus, He gives us His Spirit and “the Peace of God which transcends all understanding.”

That’s why non-Christians don’t get us. Until they open their hearts – not their minds – to accept Jesus as their personal savior, they won’t understand what they’re missing.

This morning I was watching the 700 Club. A former Muslim gave his testimony. Then
they explained that the Muslims believe there is only one God. Jesus was not the son of God, nor was he divine, never mind there being a Spirit.

Jesus said, “I am the door” to heaven. Not a door. There are no other doors to heaven and unless people believe in their hearts that Jesus is The Way, they’ll never understand.
So what do we, Christians, do about family and friends that just don’t get it?

We keep planting seeds. But like a gardener, we need to keep watering and feeding the seed so it will take root and grow. We do that with prayer. Non-believers tend to ignore signs from God. Unfortunately, God wants our attention and when we don’t give it to Him, He’ll use drastic measures to get us to notice Him. We believers need to pray that these non-believers will realize that God is calling them. That they’ll hearts will be softened and open to receive Him when they do.

It’s sad to think that our loved ones will not be with us in Heaven if Jesus back came this moment to retrieve His “Bride” – His Church – His Believers. Let’s pray that it’s not going to take them being “Left Behind” to realize, “Wow, they were right.”

If you or someone you know wants to know Jesus, Click here for guidance. It’s time to “get it.”
