“Hungry people are desperate people, and they are hungry for more of God than they have ever had. They are breaking out of religious rules, regulations and traditional thinking and breaking through to more of His presence, more of His power, and more of His miracle-working power! Only Jesus satisfies hunger!” from Fasting: Opening the door to a deeper, more intimate, more powerful relationship with God by Jentezen Franklin.

4 days into my 5-day fast and I actually felt more energized. Last night was tough. The hunger pangs weren’t helped by the food commercials. I had to mute the TV and close my eyes each time one of them came on. One thing this has taught me is that we take in so much bad stuff in the processed foods that we eat. I’m going to stop eating red meat and increase the fresh fruits and vegetables. My “passion food” is breads – but I can stick to whole grains and I’m good.

Another book that’s helped is one that was given to me over 5 years ago as a Christmas gift by the pastor I worked for at Peace Lutheran Church in Palm Bay, FL: Life-Changing Prayers. I’ve had it for so long and it’s taken till now for me to read it. It ahs beautiful prayers for every need imaginable.

God is an awesome God. Like the song we sang in church on Sunday:
Salvation is Here by Hillsong
God above all the world in motion
God above all my hopes and fearsI don’t care what the world throws at me now
It’s gonna be alright!
Hear the sound of the generationsMaking loud our freedom song
All in all that the world would know Your name
It’s gonna be alright!
‘Cause I know my God saved the day
And I know His word never fails
And I know my God made a way for me
Salvation is here!
It’s gonna be alright! Amen!

God Bless,
