Do we have to be reminded to pray?

Are we so distracted by daily goings on that we can’t find the time to stop and talk to God?

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:4-7

I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. ~Psalm 121:1-2

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”~ Matthew 7:7-8

Why just one day?

We should pray every day. More than once a day.

Thank God for a new day and ask Him to guide you through it.

Thank God for your food. He allowed you to have it.

Thank God for the small things like running water and a roof over your head – the things we take for granted.

Pray for our leaders.

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.~ 1 Timothy 2:1

Respect everyone, and love your Christian brothers and sisters. Fear God, and respect the king.~ 1 Peter 2:17

Love your neighbor as yourself. You don’t need to like everyone, but you must respect them as human beings. You may not like your government leaders, but you must respect them. We’re stuck with them till the next election.

Even if you haven’t talked to God in a while, NOW is a good time to start.
